Plakias Bay Hotel, where heaven meets relaxation. Ultimate Greek welcome, generous breakfasts, lavish dinners, comfortable rooms, and double showers to wash off beach sand and salt. Very enjoyable, very wonderful.
Oh, and don't forget the wind that blows for days and the fair hike from town. But who needs those when you have paradise?

The Plakias Bay Hotel area offers scuba diving with the local diving schools, windsurfing, sailing, swimming or sunbathing on the sandy beach. We enjoyed the variety of water activities available for our family to enjoy together. We also took day trips from Plakias to some of Crete's traditional villages and the big towns, immersing ourselves in the local culture and exploring the beautiful landscapes. Being within one travel day of every fabulous event and activity on the island made it convenient and exciting for us to make the most out of our vacation.
For dads, it would be great if there were more kid-friendly activities specifically tailored for families with children.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect for a peaceful holiday surrounded by olive trees, and it was just a short walk to a beautiful sandy beach and rock climbing spots. The staff was incredibly welcoming and the rooms were clean and comfortable. As a family of five, we had plenty of space in the interconnected family rooms. The hotel had a cozy and traditional Greek style, which we loved. The breakfast, although modest, was served on a terrace with a stunning sea view. I highly recommend this hotel!

We took day trips from Plakias to traditional villages like Matala, where we marveled at the intriguing archaeological sites and the Turkish bazaar. The roads were excellent and made it easy for us to travel to different towns, such as Rethymnon with its stunning castle and Frangokastello, where we heard tales of knight ghosts. The kids especially loved the hairpin bends on the road to Chora Sfakion, which were frequented by curious goats. Additionally, the hotel's location near Ammoudi Beach allowed us to enjoy activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, and sunbathing on the sandy beach.
My wife says that it would have been great if the hotel had a kids' play area or playground.

This hotel is a hidden gem! The evening restaurant was a game-changer, saving us from the hassle of finding a restaurant every night. The home-cooked Greek dishes were absolutely mouth-watering. The rooms were simple but functional, with a clean and efficient shower and comfortable beds. The balcony offered a great spot to relax. The location couldn't be better, at the end of the beach-side road with no traffic and just a few steps away from the beach. The tranquility was unmatched, and we even got to enjoy the sound of woodlarks singing during breakfast. The hotel owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Exploring Crete from Plakias was a breeze, with different routes to choose from. a perfect choice for a peaceful and memorable vacation.

I had a wonderful time at this charming hotel in Plakias. The decor was tastefully done, with a cozy and traditional feel that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and provided a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. As a senior woman, I greatly appreciated how accessible the hotel was. The staff were attentive and always ready to assist, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach and a short walk to the town center. It was the ideal place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle but still have everything within reach.
The only thing I would have asked for was a bit more assistance from the children working there. While they were friendly, there were times when I needed more support with certain requests as a senior traveler.
